How to use Picaro's Flashcards (1)
Picaro has almost 1,000 flashcards relating to all our content. With so much on offer, there are plenty of activities you can do with your child to engage them in learning English. Over the next series of blog posts, we’ll be sharing ways you can use the flashcards at home.
Starting Out Flashcards (1) – these have been sorted into themes.
The Number and Word Flashcards, The A-Z Flashcards and the Numeral Flashcards
Print off the cards, cut them out and laminate them. Lay them all face down and play the memory matching game.
Match the lowercase letter cards with the uppercase letter cards.
Match the written words with their corresponding numeral.
Print off the cards, cut them out and laminate them.
Practise forming the letters and words by laying cooked spaghetti or playdough over them.
Copy out the letters and words.
Count out the number of objects for each flashcard.
The Number and Animal Flashcards
Print off the cards and cut them out. Lay them all face down and play the memory matching game.
Match cards with the same number (e.g. 2 cows would match with 2 crocodiles).
Sort cards that begin with the same letter.
Sort cards by function: vehicles, objects in the home, or animals.
The Character Flashcards
Can you draw the characters?
Create your own flashcards by drawing out your family.
Draw and write ideas around each character of what they like and don’t like.
The Word Card Flashcards
Can you write over, or copy, the words?
Draw a related image for each flashcard.
