New Picaro website
This month we're delighted to announce the launch of our brand new website which features a clear and user-friendly interface, downloadable Picaro samples and a fully responsive design: check it out on your mobile device.
Interactive learning scenes
We’re excited to introduce a new Picaro Phonics tool for the Interactive White Board. The Interactive Learning Scenes (ILS) are available for free to customers who purchase Picaro Phonics Books, or for a small fee to those who don’t use Picaro Phonics. The ILS add an extra level of engagement and allow children to practise phonics pronunciation with the audio. We’re excited to introduce a new Picaro Phonics tool for the Interactive White Board. The Frankfurt Book Fair
This October the Picaro team took pride of place at the Frankfurt Book Fair - the largest international publishing trade show - to expand our business network and increase Picaro brand awareness. With a colourful stand featuring Picaro games on tablets, we brought people’s attention to the very best of Picaro: a fully-branded approach, outstanding academic credentials and a wealth of teaching resources. We’ll continue participating in key educational events in 2016, starting with the BETT Show in Excel London 20-23 January 2016.
The American version of Picaro is to be completed in December just in time for 2016. Student’s Books, Workbooks, Teacher’s Books and Storybooks will be available both in British and American English to accommodate our customers’ needs particularly in Asia and Latin America. The games in both versions are available now.
Picaro in Latin America
Working together with Picaro distributors, KEL Ediciones in Argentina and Books & Bits in Chile, Dave Tucker, key Picaro speaker and a teacher trainer presented in the FAAPI Conference in Argentina (Federación Argentina de Asociaciones de Profesores de Inglés) and the British Council Young Learners Conference in Chile. Dave delivered an academic workshop on the role of emotion in English learning. He addressed some typical English teaching challenges and gave practical advice, using examples from Picaro.
Picaro in India
Working closely with Overleaf, our new distributor in India, we're increasing Picaro presence in Asia. This month, Helen Daykin, Senior Sales Manager visited several Indian schools to better understand and accommodate our customers' needs. Helen's visit was followed by a teacher training webinar with Dave Tucker.
